Create, the need to - humans experience this in order to be like their heavenly Father

The need to create is certainly one of the most powerful instincts in all human beings. Why? Because human beings are called to be like their heavenly Father. And if they do not wish to give birth to children, they can give birth to works of art. Art is one of the signs that the wish to become a creator is not limited to creating children, to reproducing merely for the preservation of the species: it expresses itself as a need to reach further, to always find new, more beautiful and more accomplished forms. The creative power in human beings dwells higher than the level of their ordinary consciousness. It is found in a part of their soul that acts at that moment as an antenna, with the ability to explore and contemplate realities far beyond them and to capture elements of these realities. Only when human beings are capable of going beyond themselves, of surpassing themselves, can they claim to be creating.
