Criticism - ends by impoverishing those who practice it

Discovering the faults, weaknesses and ridiculous ways of others is an activity so esteemed by most people that some have made a career of it. To be so shrewd and perceptive, what proof of their superiority! Well, if they were so shrewd and perceptive, they would realize that this habit of emphasizing the weaknesses and failings of others impoverishes them. When people fix their attention on the defective, stupid or ridiculous behaviour of others, it is as if they were feeding on impurities, and something within them begins to collapse. If you want to know why the initiates are so rich, I will tell you: it is because they are preoccupied with all that is most beautiful in human beings, with their soul and their spirit, and they want to provide every possibility for their manifestion. Although they see people’s mistakes and crimes, they continue to focus on what is best in them. In doing so, they help them and enrich themselves as well.
