The words life and death seem to oppose each other, but in …

The words life and death seem to oppose each other, but in reality all of creation rests on these two words. Life cannot be understood without death, nor death without life; the two walk together, inextricably linked. As soon as life appears, it is immediately threatened by death. But death itself never has the last word: as soon as it has accomplished its work, life gains the upper hand again, but in another form. Taken separately, then, the words life and death have no real meaning. It is life that gives meaning to death and death that gives meaning to life. This is why we will only truly understand life when we pass through the portals of death one day and gain access to a new form of life.
