We cannot reject science – science has produced so many …
We cannot reject science – science has produced so many beneficial results – but we cannot always approve of the direction it is taking. What is true for science is also true for money. Some say: ‘I'm totally against money. Money turns people nasty and makes them unhappy.' Well no, money does not do that. Money is neutral. It is people who make money good or bad depending on how they use it. And the same can be said for science: it embraces both good and bad at the same time. This is why, if people are looking for ways to do wrong, science will provide them with ways to do so, and if they are looking for ways to do good, it will provide them with those too. Science is neutral; it has no conscience. It is human beings who have a moral conscience, a sense for what is good and what is bad. And this moral conscience must help them steer scientific research in a direction which will benefit the whole of humankind.
