According to the law of correspondences set forth by Hermes Trismegistus in the Emerald Tablet, everything below is like that which is above, and everything above is like that which is below. This means that on earth there is a visible, tangible expression of the inaccessible world of truth. The sun is this expression. Yes, truth, like the sun, allows us to see things clearly. This is why among the five virtues – love, wisdom, truth, goodness and justice – it is truth that is linked to the eyes. You say you are looking for truth? Can you not see it right there in front of you, in the form of the sun? While you continue to search for it in the darkness, the sun continues to shine. Try to realize at last what it is saying to you: ‘Look at me, try to become like me. I will come and live in you, and you will possess the truth.’
