Technological progress - it must be paired with an effort to advance along the path of spirituality
You are children of the twentieth century and the twentieth century is said to be the century of progress. One of technological progress, yes; that is indeed true: in this field, human beings have accomplished wonders. But what is technological progress? A victory over physical matter. So, what do human beings then do? Pleased and proud of themselves for having managed to produce all kinds of appliances and products that make their lives easier, they fail to realize that they are using them to feed their lower nature, satisfying their selfishness, laziness, sensuality and aggressive behaviour. Well, that is not progress, it is regression. Try to analyze yourself: observe how you use everything that technological progress has placed at your disposal and you will discover that it is rarely, indeed very rarely, for your spiritual evolution and for the good of others. Why? Because to be able to put all the riches physical matter has to offer to good use, we need to have worked on our psychic matter first. Technological progress will become true progress only if human beings match it with an effort to advance along the path of spirituality.*
