Someone comes and complains to me about certain criticisms …

Someone comes and complains to me about certain criticisms he has received: he is disrupted and crushed. I tell him, 'Here's what happens when someone is not prepared. You must know in advance that it will be this way all your life. Why do you think you will be spared? So now, stand up straight and tell yourself that it is certainly not the last time you will be criticized, and if you do nothing to reinforce yourself, when it happens again, you will collapse once more.' Of course, he is stunned, he expected me to comfort him, to assure him that it would not happen anymore and that he would be protected and spared in the future. And now I tell him to get ready for more difficulties of the same type! Yes, I always suggest to others the methods I use myself: I often tell myself that all kinds of unpleasant events can take place - I know it in advance. If they do not happen, well, good; but if they do arise, at least I will not be surprised.
