Why do so many people confess to having lost their faith? Usually this loss of faith takes place during adolescence. Children believe everything they are told about God and religion, just as they believe everything they read in fairytales, but in adolescence they come to reject these beliefs, judging some to be false and others useless. But those who have true faith can never lose it. Even if you come to reject your childhood beliefs and pass through periods of doubt and disbelief, your faith will secretly live on in the deepest part of you. For the moment, distractions, business affairs and ambition may take priority. But if you strive to rid yourself of all the dross and useless burdens that weigh you down and cast a pall over your life, you will rediscover that you are immersed in the wellspring of life and know yourself once again as a son or daughter of God.
