‘Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect’. It was two …

‘Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect’. It was two thousand years ago that Jesus said this, but have Christians really tried to attain even a little of their heavenly Father’s perfection? They always prove to be greedy, weak, jealous, resentful, angry and sensual. This shows that the teaching they have been given since then is not enough to change them; they need something more. Some of you will say, ‘But what do you mean? We have everything; it’s all in the Gospels!’ Yes, of course, but have you understood the Gospels? Have you been shown the depth of the truths they contain? No, people are happy with a few snatches of verses they have often been unable to interpret correctly. Everything is in the Gospels, it’s true, but there is not much in Christians’ heads, as they haven’t received the explanations they need or the methods to apply them.
