Many people claim that we cannot know the objective worth …

Many people claim that we cannot know the objective worth of people and things. Yet, there are criteria that can be used. Someone presents you with a loaf of bread, for example, saying: 'It is excellent; it will give you strength.' You take some, you eat it, and then you are sick: therefore the bread is bad. The proof is there, and you cannot continue to eat it. Someone else brings you another loaf of bread, and having tasted it, you feel revitalised, which proves that this bread is good. The same thing applies to every realm. Someone tells you about a philosophy, saying that it is the best, that you must adopt it...Well, verify it first. If you begin to see more clearly, if you feel more love, zest, and inspiration in your heart, if your will to work and resolve every problem becomes stronger, then accept this philosophy. Even if a tramp or an outlaw presents it to you, it is excellent. You have the proof.
