Words - often used to provoke certain reactions

Broadly speaking, it could be said that the Logos is the synthesis of all the expressions of a person’s inner life, of all that emanates from their thoughts and feelings. In this sense, the Logos is often in direct contradiction to a person’s words. Suppose, for instance, that a man detests his neighbour and intends to ruin him; he may set out to lull his victim’s misgivings by a great show of friendship, and the poor wretch is taken in by his words. Also, instead of being a truthful reflection of reality, words are often used for no other purpose than to provoke reactions of distrust, hatred, revolt or any other sentiment that the speaker wishes to arouse. So, beware of words! Of course, you might say that most of the time, speech fulfils its magical role, which is to transform reality. True, but it should never be used to transform reality in a negative way. The magical power of speech must be used exclusively for good.*
