Anger - how to control it

When a gesture, a word or a look makes you tense or angry, you may of course retaliate. But if you wish to act wisely, don't move, and above all, keep quiet! Anger is like an eruption of the brute force of a torrent; this force is not necessarily a bad thing and it can even be beneficial to you and to others, but provided you know how to control it so as to then be able to guide it. And to control it, you must first lay down the weapons this instinctive reaction suddenly gave you. So at first, don't move and don't respond. And then, to overcome the tension you may still be feeling, take a deep breath, make some harmonious and rhythmical movements with your legs, arms and head. You might also want to, in thought, write some words in the space around you with letters of light, such as peace, wisdom, love, beauty and so on. These very simple methods give great results, provided you keep enough lucidity and control to have the reflexes to use them.
