Curiosity - beware of traps

Our whole life is an endless succession of encounters and contacts with men, women, things and circumstances.* Human beings want to know everything. Why? Because they think that it will be to their advantage. But be careful, the result is often the exact opposite. A fly looks at a spider’s web with great curiosity. It wants to find out all about it, never dreaming that the cunning artisan of that magnificent creation is lying in wait for it at the centre of the web. The fly’s voyage of exploration ends in a close acquaintance with the spider... but it loses everything in the endeavour. The artist that built this trap is delighted, but that is the end of the fly! Life is full of spider webs and other snares for the curious and unwary who set off in search of adventure without an instructor or guide.
