Destiny - determined by the nature of our needs

The destiny of a human being is determined by the nature of their needs. Let's take an example: if you need large quantities of cigarettes and alcohol each day, if you need to accumulate possessions - houses, cars, businesses -, if you need to go to nightclubs or to casinos to play roulette every night, your destiny is all laid out for you: moral decline, ruin, maybe even prison. And if your need is to contemplate divine beauty or to spread peace and light all around, your destiny will also be clear: you will meet with joy and fulfilment. How is it that humans do not see that their every need, wish and desire places them on a fixed course? Depending on their aspirations, they will go either to regions infested with wasps, snakes and wild beasts, from which they won't come back alive, or else to luminous, magnificent realms, where they will meet with every joy. Each person's finishing point is determined by their inclinations, tastes and desires.
