Earth - we play a part in transforming it through the way we eat
Humans eat; all creatures eat, but why? To receive energy, you will say. Yes, but because our activities have more than one purpose, if we eat it is not only to keep healthy… What do worms do? They swallow earth and then expel it. By enabling it to pass through them in this way, they aerate it and make it richer and more fertile. Well, human beings are no different as regards their food. They too eat earth, a more elaborated earth in the form of vegetables and fruit, but it is earth. They absorb this earth, digest it and then expel it, and they do it again and again. But it is not only a mechanical process. As this matter enters their body, it provides them with the elements it possesses, and in return it receives something from them, from their feelings, their thoughts and their aspirations. Because of their psychic, spiritual faculties, human beings belong to a much higher level of evolution than the matter they absorb. So, by enabling it to pass through them, they transform it, enrich it and spiritualize it.
