Eyes - opening and closing them; an exercise

From time to time, stop, close your eyes, go within, and try to find the divine centre, which is the pure source of life. When you open your eyes again, you will feel calm. We open and close our eyes countless times each day, but we make these movements unconsciously, which is why we get no benefit from them. So, here is an exercise that will be very good for you if you learn to do it with awareness. Close your eyes slowly, and keep them closed for a moment… Then open them again, slowly, and observe the changes taking place in you… Gradually, you will come to understand the psychological significance of alternately opening and closing the eyes: opening them is about going out into the world, toward movement and action, while closing them is about returning to the centre of your being, to peace and silence. When you have succeeded in touching this centre within, you will feel currents of energy flowing toward you, bringing you balance, harmony and light.
