God - we share the same nature with him

Faith is inscribed deep within us. It is God himself who has inscribed it there by means of his presence, out of his wish that we remain eternally connected to him. In order for this faith to manifest itself, we must simply liberate it. When an initiate says to us: ‘Do not sever your link with God’, it is merely a manner of speaking. In reality, we cannot sever the link that unites us with the Creator, because we share the same nature. What can be severed is something in our consciousness, which at a given moment is limited or dim. But our true Self is never far from God, for God is within us just as we are in him. You may ask: ‘But if we have the same nature as the Creator, why is it that we feel different from him?’ Because as we descended into matter, we allowed too many dark, opaque elements to come between our divine spark and our ordinary awareness. Our principle task is to rid ourselves of these dark elements, which is the true meaning of purification.
