Good and evil - their interactions

Light and dark, good and evil… Humans are continually subjected to this duality. So, whatever you do, know there is always one force pushing you one way and another on the lookout, scheming to pull you the other way. When you do something good, it means you have been drawn that way, but on the other side evil is biding its time, waiting to lead you astray. And be aware, too, that if you try to take goodness too far, evil will eat away the extra goodness and sometimes swallow it all up. And so, even goodness should not be overdone, or else you unleash opposing forces. Why do we sometimes say, ‘Leave well alone’? Because, in wanting to push goodness further than was useful, we have provoked evil. But be heartened by the fact that when you make a mistake goodness also is watching out and trying to find a way to save you. If you are honest and sincere, even your mistakes will one day count as experiences that have contributed to your spiritual enrichment.
