Greeting and embracing each other - always do so with love

All day long people meet and exchange greetings, but they greet each other automatically, without thought or love. Even in families, even in couples. Look, the husband and wife kiss and hug – ‘Goodbye, sweetheart! Goodbye, darling!’ – but their gestures are empty. They act out of habit. In these circumstances, it is not worth bothering. We need to know how to give something vivifying and uplifting to the people we embrace. Human beings still do not know how to embrace another, or when to do so. A man takes his wife in his arms to console himself when he is upset and unhappy, passing his sadness and discouragement on to her. Men and women constantly exchange with each other, but what is the nature of these exchanges? God only knows –or the devil, more likely! It is not forbidden to kiss someone, on the contrary; but you need to know how and when to do so in order to communicate eternal life to them.*
