Initiatic Science - the difference between it and conventional science

When you rise by means of thought and draw closer to the divine principle, you lose sight of the details, but you see the immensity, a coherent whole, and can draw certain conclusions about the unity of creation. And when you lower your sights earthwards, you can see the slightest details, which is interesting of course, but you no longer have the same synthetic overview of things. This illustrates the difference between the approach of conventional science and that of Initiatic Science. If you delve into matter, you will obviously gain a thorough knowledge of certain details, but you will lose sight of the whole. Whereas if you raise your sights to study the whole, you will not know the details. Nevertheless, it is preferable to have a view of the whole, for this higher vantage point affords us more possibilities to intervene and rectify things. When we know the whole, we come closer to the truth.*
