Joy - in order to hold on to it learn to share it by means of thought

When you experience moments of peace, joy or wonder, take at least a few minutes to share something of these privileged states by way of your thoughts. Think of all the people in the world who are in anguish and despair. Focus your thoughts on them and say, ‘Dear brothers and sisters throughout the world, what I have here is so beautiful and luminous that I want to share it with you. Receive some of this beauty, take some of this light!’ As you know, your inner states generate waves that spread out into space, so do not keep your happiness to yourself, share it with others. This way, not only will you be doing them good, but you will also be amplifying your own inner states. Yes, this is a magical phenomenon: in order to hold on to your joy, you must learn to share it.*
