Love and wisdom - make all humans ‘palatable’ for us
Life often presents us with people we find disagreeable. From a spiritual perspective, such people represent a kind of raw matter that our mouth (symbolically speaking) finds difficult to take in. But if we have love’s warmth and wisdom’s light within us, the glands of our spiritual mouth will begin to work, and these people will eventually seem ‘palatable’ to us: they will no long disturb our psychological state. If we force ourselves to ‘swallow’ someone we find annoying without seasoning them beforehand with light and warmth, we run a great risk of indigestion and heartburn. But with wisdom (light) and love (warmth) we can transform all matter that reaches us in a raw state – food, human beings, conditions, events or anything else. It is wisdom and love that enable them to be assimilated.
