Marriage, true marriage, is primarily a cosmic phenomenon: the union celebrated on high between the heavenly Father and his wife, Mother Nature. And as human beings were created in the image of God, their marriage is an unconscious imitation of this cosmic event. Christianity is a long way from understanding this; Christians make the mistake of thinking that God is a bachelor! No, man is made in the image of God; he cannot do something that God does not do. If men and women unite in order to create together it is because God himself has a spouse to whom he united and with whom he creates. God's spouse is the divine Mother. Christianity has never recognized the existence of the divine Mother. All other religions recognize it; Christianity is the only exception. But this is not the true teaching of Christ. Christians think that it demeans God to say that he is married. But in that case why does He allow men and women to marry? Where did this idea of marriage come from? The truth is that everything that takes place on high also takes place here below.
