Peace - it is from within ourselves that we must remove the causes of war
Inner peace is not something that can be obtained directly without an intermediary; it is the result of a synthesis of qualities and virtues. It means that all the functions and activities in a human being are perfectly balanced and in harmony. Peace is a consequence of good organization, of all the cells of all the organs functioning perfectly. So no one will ever have peace simply by saying, ‘I want peace!’ Yet, observe human beings and you will see that they all believe that peace would reign in the world if they could only eliminate certain things or certain people. Not at all! Even if we were to rid ourselves of the army and all its weapons, people would invent other ways of destroying each other the very next day. Peace is an inner state, it will never be obtained by removing something external. It is within ourselves that we must remove the causes of war. And to live in a state of inner peace, we must learn to bring our thoughts, feelings and actions into harmony.*
