Scepticism - is an arrogant and pretentious attitude

When faced with the truths of spiritual science, some people simply take on an air of suspicion and insinuation. They say, ‘Personally, I doubt that… I am a sceptic’, as if this scepticism were the fruit of many years of deep reflection. In fact, the opposite is true. They show how limited they are intellectually: they have not studied, nor do they wish to make the effort, so they find it convenient to remain in doubt. This spares them the trouble of true reflection and creates the illusion that they are great thinkers. Someone who describes themself as a sceptic only reveals that they have never studied anything in depth. Yes, if they have failed to acquire certitude, it is because they have not gone far enough in their research. It also shows that they are arrogant and pretentious, since they attribute no value to all the knowledge that others, who came before them, had worked so hard to acquire and make available to us.
