Trap - advised by enemies in disguise

A man says, ‘I’m finished with women. It’s over! They have brought me too much sorrow, too much trouble. I want nothing more to do with them. No more commitments.’ But as he still harbours within him entities that drive him in the same direction, he soon finds himself in the same old mess. And what do these entities say? ‘Yes, the other women were cruel and unfaithful, but the one you are attracted to now is different. She will bring you joy and inspiration.’ And, once again, the poor fellow falls into the trap. Of course, this type of situation is not limited to the realm of love and sexuality. We are exposed to traps in every domain—money, ambition, covetousness of every kind. How can I get you to understand that you are being advised by enemies in disguise whose only desire is to exhaust and ruin you? Yet without realizing it, you caress, spoil and feed your enemies. From now on, you must take steps to get rid of them, and you have the means to do so… provided you start by acknowledging that your worst enemies are not outside you, but within you.*
