Too often, we try to get rid of our problems by finding external solutions, when we should be trying to deal with them inwardly, so that we can shine all our inner light on them. We can compare this attitude with that of a mother who is obliged to discipline a disobedient child. Instead of first trying to understand the reasons for his behaviour (for there is certainly something to be understood), she gives him a couple of smacks, for the sake of a quiet life. But that is using the easy way out, and the child continues to disobey her. Well, you must understand, our problems are also our children, in a way, and depending on how we deal with them we will manage to solve them, or we won’t!
