Freedom is not found on the physical plane. Freedom is found on the atmic plane, which is the world of the spirit. So in order to be free we must identify with our spirit. The more we achieve this identification, the more we strengthen ourselves and escape the conditions around us. Figuratively speaking, we could say identifying with the spirit is like climbing above the clouds. Those who stay below the clouds are always dependent: they must wait until the clouds decide to clear before they can see the sun, and while they’re waiting they’re exposed to darkness, cold, fog and rain. As they don’t realize they’re responsible for this situation themselves, they complain, ‘The sun is hidden’. But the sun is not hidden; they themselves have allowed clouds, in the form of their dark thoughts and feelings, to come between the sun and their soul. They only need to disperse these clouds or project themselves above them and they will immediately have light, and what freedom they will feel once they have light!
