You will always find people who claim it’s impossible to …

You will always find people who claim it’s impossible to know what’s good and what’s bad. They know perfectly well, really, but it suits them to pretend they don’t: this way they can give in easily to all their impulses. If they reasoned a little, they would know whether they were going to act well or badly. Do they want, for example, to supplant someone, to belittle them in the eyes of other people, or to seduce them only to reject them later? Well, they should put themselves in the other person’s situation and imagine what they themselves would feel if they were them. They will find out immediately how distressing, unfair and dishonest it is. How is it they’ve suddenly come to see the light? Nothing can justify those who claim not to know how they should behave. Jesus said, ‘Do to others as you would have them do to you’. So, it’s clear, is it not?
