You know what the child says: 'I love daddy, I love mommy, but I prefer jam.' The word 'jam' - in other words 'what is easy, pleasant and sweet' - sums up the mentality of the child. He does not know that what is bitter and difficult would no doubt be better for him. He is not yet wise enough to choose what is unpleasant once in a while. Behind those appearances of pleasure and charms lies danger - traps, disillusions and bitterness - not only for children, but for adults who often behave like children. That is why human beings need guides who have learnt lessons from their experiences. These guides will teach them how to become adults, that is, not to trust 'sweet' appearances, but to look for difficulties they will be proud to overcome. This is the source of true happiness.
