It is said in the Gospel: 'Jesus took with him Peter and James and his brother John and led them up a high mountain, by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became dazzling white.' This transfiguration was a sudden emergence into the physical plane of Jesus' spiritual body, the body initiatic tradition refers to as the body of glory, the body of immortality. A few people have been able to see the body of glory of some initiates or mystics whilst in a state of rapture or ecstasy: their face was radiant and light emanated from the whole of their being. It is thanks to this body that an initiate is able to travel in space, and at long-distance act on creatures to help them. And even if his physical body is worn out or ill, an initiate is always able to continue to work and send help, because his physical body and his body of glory are two totally different realities. The body of glory is always there, alive, radiant, and it is through this body that an initiate can touch creatures through space to educate them, advise them, console them and give them his blessings.
