Food takes three or four hours to digest after a meal. Your hunger is immediately appeased and you feel revived and ready to go back to work as soon as you get down from the table. This shows that the most subtle part of the food we eat is absorbed through the mouth as we chew and it is these most subtle elements that give us energy. Only the most material part of our food is absorbed in the stomach and intestine. Now do not be surprised when I tell you that meditation is like 'chewing' an idea. When you are meditating on a symbolic image, a philosophical concept or a divine idea, it is as if you were 'chewing' it. And this process can but produce a result, in other words when you 'chew' you receive in your superconsciousness a powerful flow of energy, which enables you to continue your work in the field of the Lord.
