A spiritual master is obviously linked to his disciples, but his sight is first and foremost set on those higher entities to whom he will one day be accountable. If he were to forget these entities, he would unwittingly be harming his disciples, because it is inevitable: one who does not remain linked to heaven can do only harm. So, it is not important for a disciple to know if he matters or not to his master, but to observe whether or not he is growing spiritually richer, stronger, and wiser. Therefore, rid yourself of the desire to matter to your master. Simply understand that you matter to him in so far as you take part in his work, in that he instructs you in true science, leads you on the true path, and gives you what he himself has received. What is important to him is your divine self; it is for this that he works. As much as the celestial entities matter to your master, so your divine being matters to him. You are therefore no less valuable to him than the celestial entities, but when I say 'you', I am speaking of your soul and your spirit.
