Always guard jealously within you the desire to learn, and to broaden your field of vision. Unfortunately, many people are terrified and retreat into their shells when they see the sheer magnitude of spiritual science, rather than rejoicing in it. They feel they would have to accept many changes in their way of thinking and behaving, and they do not want to be pushed about; they prefer the stable and comfortable little world that they have created for themselves. Well, I am afraid they are very wrong: if they sit stewing in their own outdated ideas, they will be prey to all manner of inconveniences. Without so much as asking for their opinion, events in life will come and shake them up and oblige them to move forward. You cannot hope to find peace and happiness by allowing yourself to stagnate.
