What we must understand once and for all about spiritual work is that it involves extremely subtle matter that escapes our usual methods of investigation. But the results that can be obtained on the spiritual plane are just as real as those that can be obtained on the physical plane. In the same way that it is real on the physical plane when you saw wood or prepare a soup, it is also real on the spiritual plane when you trigger forces, direct currents, or enlighten peoples’ consciousness – sooner or later, the results will appear. As long as we remain unaware of these laws and expect to see our spiritual work give concrete results immediately, we will get discouraged and sometimes even destroy what we have already built.
