Daily Meditation: Monday, November 6, 2006

You will never be happy unless you open yourself to others. …

You will never be happy unless you open yourself to others. You will say that the people you meet in the street, in shops, at work, everywhere, do not inspire you, and that in any case, if you open up to them, they won’t understand you. There are people who will not understand you, it is true. If you greet them and smile at them, they will say: ‘What’s wrong with this person? He isn’t normal.’ But for the few who cannot understand you, there are so many who can! And do you live only for the people you come in contact with? No, you live for all creation, for all beings, visible and invisible, among whom there are countless creatures who can appreciate your love. This is what counts.
