Why do people go and see a master, an initiate ? To tell …

Why do people go and see a master, an initiate ? To tell him of their misfortunes and their problems in the expectation that he will sort out everything and work miracles on their behalf. People should understand that an initiate can do nothing for those who come to him with their complaints, without making any efforts to resolve their own problems. He will not perform miracles for them. Life itself will teach them lessons and, unfortunately, those lessons will be terrible. Human beings are pig-headed : they insist on sticking to their convictions and then, when they are faced with failure, they complain loudly without understanding that this failure stems from their refusal to bring themselves into harmony with the laws of nature. They all yell : ‘I want this ! I want that !' and set to energetically to get what they want. The laws of nature, however, are not in agreement with this attitude and refuse to gratify such indiscriminate wishes. The problem is that human beings refuse to understand. They stubbornly insist on satisfying these desires until such time as they are prostrate with exhaustion. Why do they refuse to understand ?
