Humans judge everything according to their own criteria; they don’t see there are values they neglect and others they esteem too highly. This is why, in the eyes of cosmic Intelligence, human values are rarely true values. Take the case of education, which people generally set great store by. If you ask someone how much time it took them to get their degree, they’ll say three years, five years, or even more if they’re a doctor, and that seems a long time. But if you want to acquire virtues such as patience, kindness, generosity or wisdom, a few years are not enough; you need several centuries. Acquiring book knowledge is so much easier than developing moral qualities! When someone has these qualities, it is because they have worked for centuries to acquire them, so why underestimate them?
