So many of you think clairvoyance is the be-all and end-all of spiritual life! Well, actually, it’s not. And you should even know that clairvoyance will hinder your progress if you have developed it prematurely, that is, before you have sufficiently purified or strengthened yourself. If you are not pure, what do you think you are going to see? You will not be able to see beyond the lower regions of the astral plane, where you will encounter nothing but larvae and monsters. And you will be so horrified, you will end up begging the Lord to take away this ability; what once seemed so desirable is now the cause of all your torments. You must purify yourself if you wish to be capable of rising very high, high enough to contemplate heavenly realities. And you must also strengthen yourself so you can endure the sight of all the scheming in the hearts and minds of human beings. It is not enough to ‘see’, you must be capable of seeing all that heaven reveals to you, and strong enough to endure the visions of hell.
