Exercise your powers of observation. When you leave a place,…

Exercise your powers of observation. When you leave a place, you should be able to describe it, not because it is necessarily of interest, but because it is important to practise observing things. So many people don’t notice anything! When you ask some men what colour their wife’s eyes are, they don’t know. They have kissed their wife thousands of times, but they have never noticed the colour of her eyes! Oh yes, characters like this do exist, both men and women, of course. They pass people and objects without seeing them, and they bump into them physically and psychically. And do they look before crossing the road? No, not even then, and they go through life with the same lack of attention. There is nothing more important than knowing how to look. Learning to observe people, objects and situations is one of the secrets of success.
