Going without - in order to have plenty

In order to live in abundance, you must know how to do without. This is something the sage has understood. He tells himself, ‘I will go without a few grains of wheat; that will allow me to reap thousands.’ Instead of eating these grains, he sows them, and soon there is a whole field to harvest. Those, on the other hand, who do not have this wisdom eat all the grain, and after a while there is none left and they are destitute. We need to eat, but not everything; we have to sow the rest. These grains I am talking about are your thoughts and feelings, which you must learn to sow. Indeed, thoughts and feelings can work for the good of all, as long as we do not eat them, that is, do not let them serve selfish interests. Those who know how to do without have such abundant harvests that not only are they never short of anything, they can also feed large numbers of beings in the world.
