Even in their spiritual life humans fail to detach …

Even in their spiritual life humans fail to detach themselves from matter. They visit holy places, go on pilgrimages and venerate relics, but by clinging in this way to places or material objects they will not succeed in touching the great beings who left their trace there. Instead of the spirit, they will find only antiquities and dust. Instead of life, they will find death. Spirit alone gives life. As for relics, they can be compared to… tin cans! If you want to eat peas, or apricots or sardines, you can of course open a tin can. But these peas, apricots or sardines no longer contain the same life they had when they were freshly picked or caught. And this is even truer on the spiritual plane. So, leave the tin cans, and go to a restaurant that will always give you the freshest food: this restaurant is the sun. From the day you decide to frequent it, you will find the light, warmth and life that nourished the great beings you seek to trace.
