Anyone who thinks they will find happiness in pleasure is …

Anyone who thinks they will find happiness in pleasure is like a drunkard. A drunkard will pour a glass of wine or spirits and drink it. Ah, how good it feels – all their cares are forgotten and they draw the conclusion that drinking is wonderful. Yes, based on a few minutes or a few hours it may seem wonderful, but what will be the results a few years later? The loss of mental faculties; the inability to lead a balanced social or family life; moral decay; a life of crime perhaps. Well, people often behave like drunkards; something gives them a few moments of pleasure and they conclude that it will always be so. But that is not the case. Be careful – for the sake of a few brief moments of pleasure you will have to endure years of suffering. This is why you must be on your guard and always a little wary of what is pleasant.
