The best means to progress is never to put obstacles in …

The best means to progress is never to put obstacles in your own way, never to accept limitations or admit defeat before you begin. So many people say, 'This work is too hard for me,' or 'What terrible conditions! I will not be able to resist,' or 'I will never be able to bear this.'... And if they do not say it, they think it. Well, when you are so convinced beforehand that you are incapable, weak, vulnerable, of course, you can only capitulate. On the contrary, you must say, 'I will manage, I will stand firm, I will succeed.' And if you do not manage completely this time, it does not matter, you can do better next time. The essential is never to acknowledge defeat beforehand.
