You must never stop working and making efforts; you must …

You must never stop working and making efforts; you must constantly exercise your will. Yes, what is lacking so often is the will! Humans understand where ‘good’ is; they hope for it, they desire it, they aspire to it… But it stops there; they don’t go any further or really put their will to work to achieve the good they approve of and desire, and they continue to live as they have always done, instinctually, mechanically and negligently. Daily life, of course, requires a minimal use of the will: getting out of bed in the morning, going to work, taking care of one’s family and so on, but that is what everyone does; there is no great merit in it. The will of which I speak is a decision of the heart and mind, themselves inspired by the soul and spirit. Do you wish to develop your will? Begin by studying yourself, so that you know yourself well. Then, decide to orient yourself inwardly in the best way, one that requires you to develop your qualities and correct your faults.
