Most Westerners are a long way from understanding the part a master can play in steering their destiny, everything his presence can improve, put right, and bring into harmony in their lives. And even if some have a master, in practice they are more open to all kinds of trifles and frills than to him. They consider the master to be merely a small ornament, a minor decoration. Unlike Westerners, Orientals are aware they need a master to give them direction in life, and when they have found him, they respect him, they do not doubt him. The master is like a door to them, which will give them access to the divine world. And it does not matter to them if this master is neither omniscient nor omnipotent.
