Where do the feelings we call hate, hostility, resentment …
Where do the feelings we call hate, hostility, resentment and revenge come from? They come from human beings having cut the connections that ought to unite them. You may say, ‘But if they’re standing face to face, confronting each other, taking each other by the throat, it means the connections haven’t been cut!’ On the physical plane, that’s true, the connections have not been cut. But I am talking about the spiritual plane. There, the connections have indeed been cut, and it is this separation that brings about war. In war, obviously, there are connections. When two people hurl themselves at each other in hatred or anger, you could say they’ve never been so close… but it’s in order to slaughter one another! Whereas, others who love each other deeply, even if they are thousands of miles apart, have an amazing connection to one another! When I speak to you about connections, I mean it in the sense that mechanics and electricians do. You might have a machine that’s not working, simply because half an inch of wire is missing. You put the right length in, and there you are, the current returns, and the machine is working. Everything is in the connection, whether the connection is physical or psychic.
