Because the universe has been created by God, all of nature is the expression of harmony, divine perfection. This harmony is represented nowhere better than in the human body. Everywhere else this beauty is diffused: the oceans for instance represent part of the cosmic body; the rivers another; the mountains and the sky yet others. Only man and woman are able to express this beauty in its entirety. God has summarized the whole of creation in man and woman. This is why, when an initiate sees a human body come closer to this ideal of beauty, by its proportions and its emanations, he contemplates it with delight. He says to himself: 'Here is a creature that reflects all the virtues of God better than any other.' But he does not stop there. In his contemplation, he endeavours to find the splendour of the Creator.
