Someone has said or done something that annoys you, and …

Someone has said or done something that annoys you, and there you are telling all and sundry how furious you are and why. They try to calm you down by telling you it’s not that serious and you’d do better to drop the matter and think about something else, but no, you go on making a fuss, shouting, ‘That idiot, that moron, I’ll show them a thing or two’. Is that intelligent behaviour? Meanwhile, the idiot, the moron, is at home, undisturbed, well away from your ranting and raving. So, who has to put up with your anger? Those around you, your parents, your friends, who haven’t deserved to have their lives disturbed in this way. But the one to suffer most is you. Yes, the currents of your psychic life pass through you first, before they reach other people. Those who decide to live in harmony are the first to benefit from that harmony, and those who allow themselves to get carried away by anger or the desire for revenge destroy themselves first. They may destroy others also in the end, but it’s themselves they harm most. For the disturbance they have created in themselves will follow them into their next incarnation.
