Someone says: 'I understand, I understand...' OK, but if he has truly understood something, he must manifest it, he must realise it. For the majority of people, however, there is a whole world between understanding and realisation. They understand that they must be honest, sincere, indulgent, altruistic...and for them that is enough; how they then conduct themselves is another matter! Well, you must know that true understanding is never separate from realisation. If you do not succeed in manifesting what you claim to have understood, you have not really understood. If you had understood, you would have realised it. The initiates teach that to know is to be able. If you cannot do something, then you do not yet know it. Therefore, make efforts to acquire the elements lacking in your understanding so you can achieve its realisation.
